How do I set up a RefWorks account?


Go to, click on the “Create Account” link.  

  • Fill in your information making sure to use your Allegheny email address (you can’t sign up with,, etc.). You’ll receive a “success” message and you will be asked to create a password.  
  • Your Allegheny email becomes your login name. An activation email will be sent and you’ll need to validate your account to continue. Once you click on the link in the activation email.
