Can students download MS Office for free?

A student told me that I could download MS Office for free from the library website. Is it true that the school offers this suite free to students? If so, where might I find it? Thank you!

Answer

Students are not able to download Microsoft Office for free.  They can purchase a copy of Microsoft Office at a special rate through Journey Ed at http://www.journeyed.com/select.

An alternative that will likely fit the mobile lifestyle of a student better is to use Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides.  These tools are part of G Suite and accessible at no charge when you sign into your email.  Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides allows you to work on any connected device and automatically saves all your changes as you make them.

Don't worry if your professor requires you to submit a final draft as a office document, you can easily convert your work to .docx, .xlsx, or .pptx file using the email as attachment or download as feature.
