Q. Do alumni have library privileges?

I'm a graduating senior, but will be in the area subsequent to my graduation. Do I still maintain any check-out or general library usage rights after I am no longer a student?

Answer

Alumni do not have access to internet databases off campus. Our subscription services are contracted through various vendors who negotiate which types of patrons are allowed use. Unfortunately Alumni are never lumped in this category. However, Allegheny graduates living in the area may continue to use Pelletier Library.  Stop at the Circulation Desk after commencement and ask a staff member to update your library record to an "Alumni" patron status.

Alums can checkout most materials for 4 weeks, without renewals.  There is a limit of 20 books at one time.

They can check out films for 3 days with a 1 day renewal.

You must be in the library for internet access to our databases; you will need to obtain a one-day guest login at the circulation desk.

Additional information can be obtained by calling the Circulation desk at 332-3768.
