Do alumni have library privileges?

I'm a graduating senior, but will be in the area subsequent to my graduation. Do I still maintain any check-out or general library usage rights after I am no longer a student?

Answer

Alumni can borrow most books for 4 weeks.  There is a limit of 20 books at one time.

They can check out films for 3 days.

You must be in the library for internet access to our databases; you will need to obtain a one-day guest login at the Library Services Desk.

Alumni do not have access to internet databases off campus. Our subscription services are contracted through various vendors who negotiate which types of patrons are allowed use. Unfortunately, Alumni are never placed in this category. However, Allegheny graduates living in the area may continue to use Pelletier Library.  Stop at the Library Services Desk after commencement and ask a staff member to update your library record to an "Alumni" patron status.

Additional information can be obtained by calling the Library Services Desk at 814-332-4312.
